Matcha and White Chocolate, a Match Made in Heaven!

Over the years, the matcha trend has spread from Japan across the world as the drink of choice for many Americans. This ancient ceremonial tea leaf powder can be served hot or cold, and has a variety of uses from lattes to lemonades. Matcha is also loaded with antioxidants and considered to be one of the healthiest superfoods. So, here’s a super simple recipe for matcha white chocolate fat bombs that you’ll make again and again.

Matcha really is the holy grail when it comes to superfoods. In fact, most green teas contain a specific group of antioxidants known as catechins, which aid in overall cell protection. Matcha is also known to lower LDL cholesterol and blood pressure levels. For this recipe we’ll be turning this earthy green powder into matcha white chocolate fat bombs by using a food processor and cacao butter.

Cacao butter is a great source of healthy fat, and is actually the main ingredient of white chocolate. White chocolate you’d buy from the store is typically a mixture of cacao butter, milk, and sugar. This matcha white chocolate fat bombs recipe just uses cacao butter, making it taste reminiscent of white chocolate, without the added sugar.

All you need to do to make these matcha white chocolate fat bombs is grab your food processor and combine cashews, almonds, shredded coconut, and coconut butter. Coconut butter is a very keto-friendly snack made by pulverizing the coconut meat into a spreadable consistency. Coconuts are known to be high in saturated fats, which contain MCT oils that aid the production of energy in the body.

Thanks to almonds and cashews, this gluten and dairy-free snack is also packed with vitamin E, which can help promote lower risks of heart attacks and Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, cashews contain high amounts of copper and iron, which help with overall blood, bone and immune system health.

With less than 270 calories per serving, and less than 5 steps to prepare, these easy-to-make matcha white chocolate fat bombs are a great way to get in some healthy fats, and bring the tasty benefits of matcha out of the cup and on to the plate! Plus, each fat bomb has only 3 grams net carbs, making them the perfect addition to any keto-friendly meal plan!
