Nina Gheihman

Nina Gheihman is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at Harvard University. She is currently writing a book based on her dissertation called Veganized: How Cultural Entrepreneurs Transformed a Fringe Movement. It is about how veganism evolved from a fringe animal rights movement into a mainstream lifestyle. Nina’s research and advocacy have been featured in the Harvard Magazine, Harvard Gazette, Harvard Crimson, The Atlantic, NOW Magazine, and on the podcast For Food’s Sake.

Nina is President of the Harvard Vegan Society Student Group, founder of the community advocacy group Boston Plant-Based Millennials, formerly Program Director of the Ivy League Vegan Conference at Harvard, and holds a Certificate of Plant-Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. Nina is also an avid photographer, chef, yogi, biker, salsa dancer, traveler, and aspiring sculptor who loves to start the day at the farmer’s market.
